Refund & dispute policy
When you can cancel or get money back before and after shipping — clearly, without promises that are not on your invoice.
Last updated: 22 August 2026
1. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to every request made through the Korea Car Export website, operated by zoonix LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (USA). We are a referral broker only — we are not the seller, exporter, or shipper of the vehicle. The actual seller and exporter is an independent, licensed Korean export partner who contracts with you directly and to whom payment is made — not to zoonix LLC.
This policy explains when cancellation or a refund is available, when certain fees become non-refundable, and how to raise a dispute if something did not go as agreed.
2. Before any bank transfer
We do not ask for any bank transfer until you have reviewed the export partner's inspection report, photos, and a written quote. You may withdraw your request at any point before payment with no financial obligation to us or to the export partner.
Any amount requested from you before this stage (for example a "reservation fee" not itemized in a written quote) is not something we consider binding, and we recommend you do not pay it before verifying our legal identity on the About page.
3. Deposit / advance payment stage
Once you accept the written quote, the export partner may ask for a deposit to reserve the vehicle and begin the actual purchase process in the Korean market. This deposit is paid directly to the export partner, not to zoonix LLC.
- Always request a formal receipt or invoice whenever you pay a deposit.
- Confirm the beneficiary name on the transfer matches the legal name shown on the invoice.
If you withdraw after paying a deposit but before the export partner has actually purchased the vehicle, whether the deposit is refundable depends on the export partner's terms as stated on their invoice. We help you communicate with them and clarify the situation, but we cannot guarantee a refund at this stage because we are not a party to the purchase contract.
4. Inspection stage (before shipping)
If the vehicle does not match the inspection report sent to you, or the condition agreed in writing before export — whether due to undisclosed damage, unreported accidents, or a material mismatch in specifications — the buyer may cancel the order and receive a full refund of any deposit or advance payment made for that specific vehicle.
- We do not start export/shipping prep until you confirm the car and final invoice in writing (WhatsApp or email).
- If you request an on-site inspection video in Korea, the service fee and whether it is credited toward the purchase are explained before you pay anything.
- Keep a copy of the original inspection report and any correspondence — you will need it if you later raise a dispute.
This full-refund right applies as long as shipping has not actually started (the vehicle booked on a vessel and a bill of lading issued). Once shipping starts, the rules in section 5 below apply instead.
5. After shipping starts
Once the vehicle is booked on a vessel and the bill of lading is issued, the deal cannot be fully unwound, because freight, document, and clearance costs have become actual obligations already paid or committed to third parties (shipping lines, customs agents).
In this case, cancellation is subject to deducting the costs actually incurred up to that point, as itemized in the export partner's final invoice. Any remaining balance after deducting these costs is refunded to the buyer within a reasonable period.
6. After the vehicle arrives
Once the vehicle arrives at the destination port and is delivered to the buyer or their agent, the full-refund policy no longer applies to the value of the vehicle itself, because the transaction is contractually complete between the buyer and the export partner.
Any defect or damage that appears after arrival and relates to the transit itself (not the vehicle's condition at the time of shipping) may be covered by marine shipping insurance, where purchased — check the insurance policy included with your shipping documents for details and how to file a claim.
7. Fees that are typically non-refundable
Certain fees become non-refundable once the associated service has been delivered, because they represent an actual cost incurred with a third party or work already completed:
- The on-site inspection video fee in Korea, once the video has been filmed and delivered to you (even if you later decide not to purchase).
- Shipping and document fees once the bill of lading has been issued, as described in section 5.
- Any customs clearance fees actually paid to government authorities at the destination.
8. How to request a refund
To request a refund: contact us on WhatsApp or by email at support@koreacarexp.com, and include the vehicle ID or listing link, the invoice number if you have one, and the reason for your request with any supporting documents (photos, inspection report, prior correspondence).
We review requests within two business days and explain next steps — we may need to contact the export partner to verify purchase and shipping details before confirming whether a refund applies.
9. Disputes
If you disagree with the outcome of a refund review, you may escalate it as a formal dispute. We review the full record of the request (correspondence, invoices, inspection reports) and respond with a written decision within two business days of receiving all requested documents.
Registered dispute contact: support@koreacarexp.com — expected response within two business days. If the dispute concerns an amount paid directly to the export partner, we will help you communicate with them, but the final decision on that amount remains between the buyer and the export partner as the parties to the purchase and export contract.
This policy does not override any statutory consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
10. Contact
For any refund or dispute question, before or after payment: support@koreacarexp.com, the Korea WhatsApp number shown on our Contact page, or our US office at +1 307 340 7210.
