Important notes
- The main obstacle is not customs but type-approval: a car built for the Korean domestic market is not automatically registrable in the EU and may need an individual approval covering lighting and emissions changes — confirm that cost before buying, because it can exceed the price of the car.
- EU charges are paid at the first point of entry: import duty on cars plus Polish VAT, then excise (akcyza) at registration — ask your broker for a written estimate before shipping.
- Poland is a large hub for re-export within the EU — if your final destination is another European country, tell your broker in advance.
